The Ukrainian Youth Ensembles Corp (YMA) TORONTO was founded in September 1985, under our founding musical conductor, the late Maestro Vasyl Kardash. (YMA) is comprised of the Levada Women's Choir, Orion Men's Choir, and a music band all under the musical direction of Victor Romko. Our Spiritual Advisor is Rev. Ostap Chorniy.

The (YMA) TORONTO Corporation promotes teamwork and encourages a safe and positive learning environment. Our musical performances and presentations foster aesthetic development, education and diversity. We place a strong emphasis on community by uniting adults, seniors, new immigrants, young generational choristers, musicians, mature and young up-and-coming artists/soloists. We support Canadian composers by incorporating and performing their musical compositions into our repertoire. Altogether, we are proud of our rich musical program!

This upcoming 2025-2026 Season will be a very special year as we celebrate our 40th Anniversary! We invite you to join our musical chorus — together, we will continue growing the passion by introducing and by contributing a unique element of our rich cultural heritage into Canada’s diverse and multi-cultural identity.

Grateful for the unwavering support of the family of our founding Artistic Director, the late Maestro Vasyl Kardash and of our late Chaplain Reverend Ivan Trush. We value and hold in great esteem the deep friendship of Maestro Vasyl Kardash and the late Bishop Isidore Borecky whose patriotism and culture of excellence continues to guide us. It is in their spirit that we create unique musical productions and forge new artistic partnerships.
